I finally gotmy mythtv system back. It is running on gentoo with 2.6.16 kernel. I have to say thanks to this web site for all the help with lirc and getting it to work to control my cable box. I have an ATI hdtv wonder and a hauppauge pvr 150 and they work well together useing the tveeprom from the kernel. I still need to set up my user jobs for converting shows for my phone . I also need to get all the plugins working but that will have to wait till later because I am just not feeling all that well. |

Everyone has seen it by now so I will not go into great detail but it was pretty cool. I say was because I don't think I will be using it very much. I only had a few problems getting it up and running but I figured it out in the end. I like the look and feel of the hole compiz thing and it will be great when it is finished. See, I use the box I installed it on as my mythtv box and I can't get hdtv to work on that box with Xgl because I needed to use xvmc before and it is not supported with Xgl. See my hardware is not very great but I am not going to upgrade anytime soon. The thing I will really miss is the f12 key to shrink all the windows so you can see everything. The transparency is nice and the cube is ok but we will see how it goes. |

Well I am very close to haveing xgl work. It works in window mode but I can not seem to get it to start with gdm. It is driveing me nuts but I will get it working.
UPDATE: It is working. My only problem now is that it is a new install so no screen shots till I get some more software running on the box. |
